Who's Behind The Blog
I'm an optimist. Seriously, I am, even though sometimes it's hard to remain so. I'm from a people who are born optimists; we've had to be otherwise how else could we have survived?! To paraphrase Oscar Wilde, even though we've often been forced in to the gutter of life, we insist on looking at the stars.

I grew up at a time when prejudice and racism were rife in the UK and I've also lived in Africa under a dictatorship, so I think I've a pretty good understanding of bullies in various forms. With the 'progress' that had been made in my lifetime in respect of tolerance and equality in all it's forms I never envisaged a day when my children would be exposed to the irrational hatred and bigotry that was so often the norm of my youth.

But here we are. 2016 has been one in which the Eurocentric Western world in particular has embraced a political paradigm which is insular, isolationist, demagogic and rooted in fear, prejudice and bigotry. And this has now reached it's zenith in the form of Brexit and the election of the self-confessed Pussy Grabbing President (PGP), Donald Trump. And as an optimist, I'm reminded that the basis of optimism is sheer terror!

Well, I for one am not going to watch and listen to these bullies without censure. The PGP is not just the privileged white male who feels he is not being listened to (the poor little things), the PGP is any deluded fool who wants to suppress the right(s) of the weak and downtrodden using the tools of blatant lies and lazy, vicious generalisations. I intend to hold them to account. I can't ****ing stand bullies. I invite you to join me in ridiculing them.
